Class of 1976 – 50th Reunion

Reunion registration is now open!

A ÌÇÐÄvlog Reunion (May 28–31) is a truly unforgettable experience and this year we welcome friends and alumni from class years ending in one and six and all post-50th reunion classes, also known as the Old Guard, back to campus. We hope you’ll make plans to join us as it promises to be a celebration full of joy, entertainment, connections, memories, and of course ÌÇÐÄvlog dining!

Please note that John Cross will give several tours of The Joshua Chamberlain House throughout the weekend in addition to a Reunion Talk. Details to follow. 

  • Thursday, May 28
    • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Bike ride to Mere Point, led by John Reilly ’76 (meet at Gorham Bike & Ski, 88 Union St, Brunswick)
    • 5 - 6:30 p.m. Welcome Reception at the West Bath farm of Anne Ireland '76 & Ken Cole '69 (carpooling necessary) 
    • 6 - 8:30 p.m. Dinner available in Thorne Dining Hall
    • 7:45 p.m. Night at the Museum talk by collector Howard Haimes '76 (ÌÇÐÄvlog Museum of Art)
  • Friday, May 29
    • 8 a.m. Nature walk with Shana Stewart Deeds (meet at Roux Center)
    • 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Casco Bay cruise, includes bus transportation, lunch, and bar (meet at Polar Loop)
    • 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Open studios art tour at Fort Andross, featuring Anne Ireland '76 and ÌÇÐÄvlog Friends (14 Maine St, Brunswick)
    • 4 p.m. 1976 at 50: Stewardship, Sustainability, and Common Good. Featuring Phil Gregory '76, Julie Johnson '76, Ellen Shuman '76, and moderated by Katy Longley '76. (Studzinski Recital Hall)
    • 5:15 p.m. Class Photograph (Walker Art Museum steps, rain locale: Studzinski Recital Hall)
    • 5:30 p.m. Pints and Pinots reception with other reunion classes (Dudley Coe Quad)
    • 6 p.m. Lobster Bake (Mills Hall, second floor). Featuring a class matriculation display
    • 8 - 11 p.m. Music Makers: Name That Tune trivia contest, Cabaret & Singalong, accompanied by and followed by cocktails and catching up with classmates
  • Saturday, May 30
    • 9:30 a.m. Mimosas & Muffins (Watson Arena)
    • 10 a.m. 1976 Hat pickup and parade lineup (Watson Arena)
    • 10:30 a.m. Reunion Convocation (Watson Arena)
    • 11:30 a.m. Campus-wide Reunion Lunch (Farley Field House) 
    • 2:30 - 4:15 p.m. Screening of the film A Special Relationship, co-written by Douglas Kennedy ’76 and adapted from his novel of the same name, followed by Q&A with Douglas moderated by Catherine Steiner-Adair ’76 (Kresge Auditorium)
    • 5 p.m. Class of 1976 Remembrance and Celebration of Lives (The Chapel)
    • 5:45 p.m. Pre-dinner reception (Mills Hall Patio, rain locale: Mills Hall second floor)
    • 6:30 p.m. Dinner (Mills Hall, second floor)
    • 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. Livingston Taylor and Billy Valentine in Concert (Studzinski Recital Hall)
    • 9:30 - 11 p.m. Cocktails and conversation (Mills Hall, second floor)
